The manager of MAPFRE AM, Luis García, has received the award of 'Fund Manager of the Year' at the Third Edition of the RankiaPro Awards. The economic-financial publication has recognized the expert as "anticipating volatility and creating a portfolio consistent with the long-term view" in an adverse context in financial markets such as that experienced since March 2020.

Luis holds a degree in Economic Sciences from the Francisco de Vitoria University and received his master’s degree in Economics and Finance from CEMFI. In 2013 he obtained the CFA certification and is currently co-director of the Executive Program in Value Investment and Behavioral Finance at the ICADE Business School. Furthermore, he manages the MAPFRE AM Behavioral Fund, a European equity fund that has just turned three (with 3 stars, according to Morningstar, and an A rating, from Citywire) and accumulates returns of more than 35 percent. This product, based on behavioral economy, devotes around 25 percent of its portfolio to sport-related companies and well-managed football teams with sound balance sheets.

Among the finalists for manager of the year, were also Luis Buceta, investment director at Creand AM, and Beatriz Catalán, head of active management at Ibercaja Gestión. As part of the final decision, the votes of more than 3,000 professionals in the sector, the minutes of the different interviews with managers and their impact on social networks have been taken into account.
